Hello there,

Travel bloggers sometimes focus too much on the number of cities or countries they've visited. I don't care about that. Instead of focusing on that and listing all the places I've been to, the flags above represent all the countries where people in the world that have read my blog.

Community is the most important thing. So to whoever it was in those 61 counties above, thank you.

Thank you for joining the MTB Squad. Yes, it's official - the audience has a name.

Right! I'm guessing you're back here because you want to know a little bit more about Matt and Matt's Travel Blog? Well alright, but first, let's cut the third person...

Hi, my names Matt, and I run Matt's Travel Blog!

I'm a 22 year old university graduate and university drop-out, photographer, filmmaker, and travel blogger. In a nutshell, that's me. I'm passionate about travel, films, and music, like most millennials - and like most millennials, I experience existential crises almost weekly. This blog helps me remind me of the bigger picture.

So, what's the deal with Matt's Travel Blog?

Alright, story time kids.

Matt's Travel Blog was set up on the 30th of November 2015 on a blog platform called Ghost. I'd been wanting to start a new blog for a while, I've had various blogs before when I was younger which few just terrible, but I was waiting for this new platform called Ghost to host my blog. I waited, got onto the beta, and it was great. A real Wordpress killer.

So, I'd been wanting to start a new blog, but the catalyst was that I had just gotten back from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and I had this great adventure, with great photos, and I just thought - alright, I'll set up a travel blog - and then all of a sudden I was jetting off every which way; Berlin, Uganda, Rome, Paris, Budapest, Marrakesh... and the rest, you could say, was history.

Well, until March 2017, when funnily enough I moved from Ghost, the Wordpress killer, to Wordpress... sorry, Ghost, it's not you, it's me.

How old are you?
I am of 22 years of age. Born in '94. Represent.
Where are you from?
I was born in High Wycombe, England, where I lived until I was 5. Then I moved to the United States - Dayton, Ohio, to be exact.

I loved it in America, but 4 years later, when I was 10, I moved back to England to the lovely county of Oxfordshire where I have lived ever since, minus three years in Surrey for University.
Why did you call your blog Matt's Travel Blog?
Good question!

I'm a big fan of blogs, but I find it hard to remember the name of blogs, especially travel blogs, where 90% of travel blogs out there use the words nomadic, wander, backpacker, roam, journey or various synonyms. It's hard to be original and memorable.

The travel blogs I visit the most and my favourite blogs are the ones I remember.

Also, I wanted to get straight to the point. Matt's Travel Blog, it's rather self-explanatory.
Where is your favourite place to travel to?
That's as tough one.

My favourite Continent is Africa, it's just such an adventure. But I am going to South East Asia later this year, so that could change my mind.
What camera do you use?
I use 4 cameras.

My main stills camera is a Canon 70D and my main video camera is a Sony A6000. I also have a GoPro and a DJI Mavic Pro Drone to get areal shots.

You can check out all the gear I use from my KIT page.
Can you name every place you've visited?
Um, yes. Give me a spare afternoon to get this written...
Can I travel with you?
Sure! Always looking for travel buddies.

Shoot me an email at matt@mattstravelblog.co.uk or fill out my contact page and let's see what happens!
How do I start my own travel blog?
There is going to be a post on this, don't you worry.

But a quick 3 step guide.
